Survival Tweaks
Along with our core progression changes, numerous tweaks have been made to various aspects of survival Minecraft to rebalance the experience in line with our vision.
Major changes meriting their own page are listed as subpages.
Minor Changes
Stackable Utilities: Potions and typically non-stackable food items like mushroom stew now stack to 16.
No Elytra Boosting: Elytras eliminate the need to build infrastructure and nullify many of the other transport options available in Minecraft.
Repurposed Phantoms: Phantoms no longer spawn in the overworld in response to insomnia. Phantoms are instead encountered in the Toxic Heap and Shadowlands biomes, and during the Ender Dragon fight. Phantoms spawned in the End (including during the dragon fight) have 40 HP and deal 5 hearts of damage.
Block Drops
The yield from certain blocks has been adjusted, mainly with regards to the Fortune enchantment to rebalance resource scarcity.
Copper Ore
Copper has been adjusted to drop once per ore, in line with other metal ores. The cut copper recipe has been adjusted to balance this change while allowing tools and Create components to be more demanding to craft.
Redstone Ore & Lapis Lazuli Ore
For other ores that can drop multiple items without enchantments, the maximum number of items dropped has been reduced.
Redstone Ore
To increase diversity amongst ore refining methods, Redstone Ore now drops Cinnabar, which must be crushed using a millstone or crushing wheel to obtain Redstone and Sulfur.
Sulfur can be used to craft Gunpowder by mechanically mixing with bone meal and charcoal.
Lapis Lazuli Ore
To be consistent with redstone, Fortune now increases the maximum number of items dropped by 1 per level, instead of 1 per item dropped per level.
