Crafting Tweaks

1.20 has changed how custom recipes work on the server. Some recipes are currently not present, however we are working on bringing them back!

Some recipes and outputs have been changed for balance or where we believe a vanilla recipe can be improved.

  • Eye of Ender: Now requires an echo shard

  • Chains: Now output 3

  • Trapdoors: Now output 6

  • Iron Trapdoors: Now output 4

  • Buckets: Now crafted using copper

  • Polished Deepslate: Now crafted using regular deepslate (instead of cobbled)

  • Honey: Now treated as a liquid by default, 4 bottles craft a bucket of honey. Compacting in a basin using Create will create a solid honey block.

New Recipes

A few entirely new items and recipes have been added to spice up survival and keep things fresh, or fill in gaps in vanilla Minecraft's feature set.

  • Mangrove Roots: Can be crafted into 4 sticks

  • Item Frames: Can be crafted with a Potion of Invisibility to produce Invisible Item Frame (❌Inactive)

  • Mud: Can be smelted to produce Dirt

  • Raw Ore Blocks: Can be blasted to directly produce Metal Blocks (Copper, Gold, Zinc)

All new and modified recipes can be viewed ingame via the recipe book or a recipe indexing mod such as JEI.

Stone Consistency

These changes have been made pursuit of consistency among the crafting stones so that stone, deepslate and blackstone follow the same rules in regards to smelting and crafting.

Cobbled Blackstone

Blackstone now has a cobbled variant dropped upon being mined. Cobbled blackstone is used for making tools, while regular blackstone can be obtained via silk touch or smelting in a furnace.

Regular blackstone, along with regular deepslate are required to craft their respective polished and brick variants for consistency with crafting using regular stone.

Stone Substitution

Most recipes that previously demanded cobblestone will now accept cobbled deepslate and cobbled blackstone. Regular stone can now also be substituted with deepslate or blackstone.
